Originally from North Carolina, he studied physics and math at Vassar College in the Hudson Valley while playing DIII soccer. After completing his degree, he studied worked at a health tech company in San Francisco for two years where he learned to code and developed an interest in the payer side of healthcare.
In 2020 he began his MD candidacy at Hofstra University on Long Island. Here he enjoyed being a soccer coach of players ages 3-12 in weekly clinics. Additionally he rekindled his love for ceramics through joining a local studio and has continued to throw since.
Between his third and fourth year of school he accepted a step out research year position where he worked on multiple projects ranging from basic science to policy studies to cost-effectiveness analyses at Stanford University.Â
